Growing Healthy in the Grove
Last year we were fortunate to receive
a 3 year $100,000 grant from the Bower Foundation to help
our school become healthier. Our nation is addressing
health issues in schools to help combat rising health care
costs. We feel this grant has given us the opportunity to
be leaders in positive change. Just a few of the benefits
so far are:
Ø
Walk Around the World – a program to increase
physical fitness in students and staff
Ø
A full-time school nurse
Ø
An equipped sick room
Ø
An EPSDT nurse and clinic
Ø
Our first school-wide Health Fair
Ø
Connections with other agencies to provide
better health-care for our community
Ø
A hydration program that allows students to
have water throughout the day to increase learning
